Exquisite handcrafted porcelain portrait set in a pieced silver filigree frame. 1 3/4” porcelain plaque with a transfer portrait and overpainted details. The woman is framed by handpainted cabbage roses, gold accents, and a blue iridescent border. Entire brooch measures a large 2 1/2” x 2 2/16”. Weight: 32 grams. Porcelain plaque is numbered 45. No markings on silver frame. Cleaned and lightly polished leaving the remaining patina to the buyer for preference. This beautiful brooch dates from the turn of the century and is European in origin. Solid silver frame except for the brass c- clasp. Untested for silver purity.
